Jack Travis FORMALLY HELD the position of National Civil War Artillery Association (NCWAA) Region 7 Inspector for North and South Carolina. AT THE PRESENT TIME COL.TRAVIS IS IN THE PROCESS OF WRITING A HISTORICAL NARRATIVE ON THE ROWAN ARTILLERY OF NORTH CAROLINA  AND A BIOGRAPHY ON IT'S TWO COMMANDERS MAJ.JAMES REILLY AND CAPT. JOHN RAMSAY, TITLED "MEN OF GOD ANGELS OF DEATH"

Col. Travis, being an experienced public speaker and historian, conducts programs, lectures and living histories on Civil War Reenacting, Artillery and  General E. PORTER. Alexander.
